Carl Madison is a music producer and hip-hop artist hailing from the city of Philadelphia. While performing (rapping) at open mics, Carl learned how to DJ under the tutelage of DJ Brother Jamar (Power 99). Deejaying quickly transitioned into music production, which led him to performing at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival (2001) in the three-man rap group “Evolution Through Mastery”.
After a strong run of performances and a short lived “deal” with Sunshine Records, the group disbanded amicably. Still, Carl’s drive for success and love for the music allowed him to work with such artists as DJ Tactics/DJ Jay Ski,Grand Agent & Malik B (of the Roots), Chaundon (of Little Brother), DJ Evil Dee, Chill Moody, Suzanne Christine and The Ecke Lloyds (Germany) to name a few.
Carl has just recently released a new Mash-up project, where he pays tribute to West Philly’s own hip-hop legend Will Smith. The “I’m da Producer, He’s da Rapper” project fuses Will’s classic flow and Madison’s raw and gritty approach, thus giving us a new interpretation of the Fresh Prince that the fans will appreciate and love. Carl Madison represents an artistic revolution through music, art, education, and hip-hop culture.
